When accessing the General Advice Service at the central offices, or prior to appointments with some of our other services, the Bureau offers and initial assessment with the aim of quickly identifying the most appropriate way to provide the information or advice you need.

Outreach General Advice Services, throughout the City of Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. Outreaches are appointment only, except for our Preston Road drop in outreach in Hull, which is held at the Freedom Centre from 9:30-12:30 on a Monday. For a specialist appointment, you need to first undertake an initial assessment with the East Riding General Advice Service, either at drop in, or via the telephone Advice Line (details above).

Pension wise, offering guidance on the new pension rules for over 50s across Hull and East Riding

Available for residents aged over 50 across Hull and the East Riding, who have yet to take their Defined Contribution pension pot, (that is - a personal or workplace pension, not final salary).

Armed Forces Money Advice Project, free money advice for Armed Forces personnel/Service-leavers and their families

For Help with budgeting on a low income, negotiating with creditors, requesting debt write-offs, or considering clearing debts through Bankruptcy, Debt Relief Orders or IVA and other problems with managing your money.

Hospital Advice project, General Advice at Hull Royal and Castle Hill Hospital

General Advice provided in consumer issues, debt & money advice, welfare benefits, employment, housing, family & personal matters, taxes, immigration & nationality, health, education, and discrimination issues related to any of these.

Hull Royal Infirmary appointments are held every Thursday on the 11th Floor of HRI.

Castle Hill appointments are held every Tuesday afternoon on the Castle Hill site.
